You can feel it starting,
You can't even breathe.
Everything starts to shake,
Your hands, legs and knees.
Sweat drips down your face,
You try to stay calm.
The more you try to relax,
The sweat fills your palm.
The crowd, so much noise,
You can't hear yourself think.
You tried so hard to be calm,
You feel yourself start to sink.
Your heart starts to race,
You head begins to spin.
You need a distraction,
You scratch your skin.
Your vision goes blurry,
Nothing makes any sense.
You just want to scream,
Your body goes really tense.
You cover your ears,
Trying to block the sound.
You clench your fists,
Tapping feet on the ground.
Your body finally relaxes,
You're left feeling weak.
People are still looking,
Understanding is all we seek.
